The Matrix Reloaded and Immersion
Matrix, and immersion what do the two have to do with one another? Well, after watching the movie again i realized that immersion comes into play through out the entire movie. Immersion: when one loses themselves, has an out of body experience, and is thrown into the virtual world.....this is how i felt when i watched the movie (again). I felt that i was more attracted, distracted, and pleased by the matrix world (the fake, the unreal, the representation)this was all most appealing to me in comparison to the Zion world. Although i felt like i was in a virtual world through the entire movie, i felt like i had an out of body experience with Neo when he goes through those machines, computers, chips and plugs to be welcomed into the Zion world. The entire movie is a great example of immersion; it fits the definition for immersion completely well...the viewer is thrown in the virtual world, not because they are watching a movie, but more so due to the content of the movie.
